Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to users of the app as well as to vendors who are listed on the app.

Users include locals who live on Flinders Island and visitors to the Island.

Vendors include businesses, organisations and individuals who are providing services or activities.

Users

  1. Flinders Island Business Incorporated (FIBI) is the owner of the app.
  2. FIBI reserves the right to make changes to the app or changes to the terms and conditions of the operation of the app as and when necessary.
  3. FIBI is not responsible for the accuracy of the information included on the app. Vendors are responsible for the accuracy of the information.
  4. If you find that there is inaccurate information on the app in the first instance please advise the Vendor responsible for that information.
  5. FIBI invites Users to offer suggestions for enhancements or improvements to the app.
  6. The app is only to be used for the purpose for which it is intended ie to provide information on services and activities that are available on Flinders Island to locals and visitors enhancing their experience of the Island.
  7. The app is available free to Users. However Users are encouraged to help meet the ongoing support and maintenance cost of the app by making a donation. Donations of $5 or more will be very much appreciated.
  8. If you need assistance in using the app in the first instance seek help from another User or a Vendor. If you are still unable to resolve an issue then contact the Administrator.

Vendors

  1. Flinders Island Business Incorporated (FIBI) is the owner of the app.
  2. FIBI reserves the right to make changes to the app or changes to the terms and conditions of the operation of the app as and when necessary.
  3. FIBI invites Vendors listed on the app to offer suggestions for enhancements or improvements to the app.
  4. The app is only to be used for the purpose for which it is intended ie to provide information on services and activities that are available on Flinders Island to locals and visitors enhancing their experience of the Island.
  5. Vendors are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information that appears on the app either in their listing or in any notifications they post.
  6. The app is provided free to Vendors in its first year of operation ie until 30 November, 2020. A decision has yet to be made as to whether Vendors will be charged to be on the app in its second year of operation and what that charge will be. Vendors will be charged to be on the app in the third and subsequent years of its operation in order to raise funds to cover the ongoing support and maintenance costs of the app.
  7. Vendors are solely responsible for managing the information that appears in their listing on the app. FIBI will provide training for Vendors on how to list on the app.
  8. Vendors are solely responsible for posting their own notifications on the app. FIBI will provide training for Vendors on how to post notifications to the app.
  9. Vendors are limited to posting one notification per day. This is to ensure that users of the app are not overwhelmed with notifications.
  10. In the event that there is inaccurate or incomplete information posted in a notification the Vendor can delete the notification and replace it with a complete and accurate one. This new notification must refer to the same service or activity in the original notification not to a new service or activity.
  11. In exceptional circumstances Vendors are able to request an additional notification from the Administrator of the app or the Administrator may post a notification on their behalf.
  12. Content of notifications is limited to XX characters per notification.
  13. Notifications can be posted up to 7 days before an service or activity.
  14. Notifications will be automatically deleted 1 hour after the scheduled commencement of a service or activity.
  15. Any notification that is harmful, disrespectful or defamatory will be removed by the Administrator and further action may be taken including to remove the listing of the Vendor from the app.
  16. If you need assistance in using the app in the first instance seek help from another Vendor. If you are still unable to resolve an issue then contact the Administrator.
